Hypercam2 takes up way too much space when recording

what im using is called total screen recorder, you can choose output format to be swf,, that would save you harddisk space.

As it is a video, it generally will use up a lot of space, you can try lowering the framerate and video size and you will find the video will have poorer quality, but will take up far less space.
If you just want an entirely new program go with Camtasia (http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp) It is the best on the market, and as always there are some serials.ws lurking around.. :) Get the trial and then enter the serial!

When you record the video for the first time, try to save the project in flash-based file like SWF, it’s the smallest video format in file size. Then, if you want to have your video published, use the most compressive format like AVI in Microsoft Video 1 or FLV, etc.
So you should check out for a screen recorder which supports multi output file formarts.

I recommend DemoCreator, the cheaper, easier to use and mainly focuses on minor group of users.
