How do you get sound to record thru your speakers with Camtasia on Vista?

By · Friday, July 9th, 2010

Okay, I think I’ve tried just about everything now. As solutions go, I fear I have missed entirely. The problem is that after clicking the audio button on the record panel, i get an error message saying, "No audio Input sources were found, blah blah blah" I think it is talking about mics, not sure. I want it to record straight from the comp though. The raw, system sound. Any help would be awesome, thanks

you can use a software. Extra Screen Capture Pro is a user-friendly, practical and powerful screen recording program. it can record audio from any source, including microphone, line-in, or speakers.

Camtasia Studio 7 should have no problem recording system audio, especially on Vista and Windows 7. Just be sure to select system audio as an input: http://bit.ly/bXgN1b

With older versions of Camtasia Studio and with XP, a lot depends on your sound card. This article gives you some things to try: http://bit.ly/systemaudio

Full disclosure: I work for TechSmith, the creator of Camtasia Studio
